The motion picture industry in New Mexico is booming!

Fondly referred to as ‘Tamalewood’, Albuquerque was ranked #1 in Movie Maker’s 10 Best Cities To Live, Work & Make Movies in 2010.
New Mexico is proud to be recognized by the industry as one of the premier places in the world to film and live. We are home to a skilled and diverse workforce, world-class facilities and support businesses, the most breathtaking and versatile locations, and responsible and dependable incentives.

More than 140 major film and television productions have been shot in New Mexico, including recent blockbusters, The Avengers, Thor, True Grit, Terminator Salvation, Book of Eli, No Country for Old Men, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. New films in production include The Lone Ranger, The Rambler, and The Last Stand. Television productions include Breaking Bad, In Plain Sight, Scoundrels and the upcoming Warner Horizon Television series, Longmire. The productions have generated more than $2 billion in economic activity.

And there’s more . . . ABQ Studios is the largest soundstage facility in North America, designed for film and television production. I-25 Studios has been the home to In Plain Sight, Macgruber, Terminator Salvation and more. And the brand new Santa Fe Studios is open and ready for business. ReelzChannel joined the ranks by relocating their offices from Los Angeles to Albuquerque.
